I've been tagged ...

From: Lee
To: Terry Fletcher
Subject: I've tagged you

Hey Terry
I noticed we now seem to have our backlink link back. LOL!
I tagged you for an archive meme. Don't know that you are into that much but I had fun with it.

Lee

I don't usually succumb to invitations to involve myself in MeMe posts. Not because I am dismissive of them, but because I've never considered my blogging on Blogger to be sufficiently interesting enough to take up a bloggers valuable time. Unless the blogger in question was looking for some form of HELP, this site is mostly off the average blogger's radar!

Damned if you do (boring, boring, boring), and damned if you don't (boring, non-participant), I have nevertheless gleaned significant insights about fellow bloggers by reading their MeMe's to be intrigued! And since this was from Lee with whom I have been corresponding about blogger-related stuff for some time now, it felt right to go take a look at how she intended to 'stitch-me-up'!

Lee's original tag post laid out the 'rules' and I realised immediately that I would not be able to participate in this MeMe with anything off this site. Here are the basic rules:

"Go back through your archives and post links of your five favourite blog posts that you've written. But here's the catch ..."

  • Link 1 must be about FAMILY
  • Link 2 must be about a FRIEND or FRIENDS
  • Link 3 must be about YOURSELF
  • Link 4 must be about SOMETHING YOU LOVE
  • Link 5 can be about ANYONE or ANYTHING you choose

I e-mailed Lee to explain my predicament and tentatively mentioned that I run a 'hidden blog' called the FLOG on my main website, and if that was acceptable then I was up for the challenge. Her response was an unqualified YES. So here goes ...

Link 1: (Family)
STARTING OUT
Some reminisces of the way things used to be - way back when!

Link 2: (Friend)
TOM AND THE CANDIDATE
About my friend Tom.

Link 3: (Self)
PARADISE DISCOVERED - A STEP BACK IN TIME
An insight into the complexity of a simple person!

Link 4: (A place I love)
PARADISE LOST?
About the Maldive Islands.

Link 5: (Person)
THE OLD LADY
On the outside, looking in.

Now for the hesitant part. I have to nominate 5 bloggers to continue with this MeMe. But 2 of them must be new blogging friends.

Okay, the deed is done. If you visit my links, please leave a comment, naughty or nice, it doesn't matter. So long as I know you've visited ...!

What a wonderful site! I came over from David's and I am having sooo much fun doing this blogging stuff. It is keeping me sane! In fact, I comment so much all over the place I am probably becoming the proverbial PITA!
I'm off to check your other posts now. Eventually I might be able to take in all the information you have on here and wow my totally IT literate son!
Excellent interview with David btw. Thanks.

Read the 5 posts now. Fabulous! Thanks.

I popped over from David's place. I loved the interview, and I particularly enjoyed reading "The Old Lady." There have been a few posts I've found today, yours among them, that gave me hope for the world.

Peace - d

Thanks for the comments Cath. Makes it all worthwhile.

Fletch said...

Thanks, momma. I'm sure there is still 'hope' for this world.

Peace, indeed.

Hi Terry - I've been looking where I can but not found what I'm looking for. Could you please signpost me to a link that tells me how to add links into comments?

I have just learned to backlink (I think) and I've prettied up my blog a bit, but eventually want to know how to sort out my title bar - the pics a bit big and the text I wanted to add as title has no picture or a way of getting a picture on. Eventually I might find out how to change the background behind my blog posts and add a right hand column. There seems to be a lot of wasted space but I like this template - I like my posts in the middle, but would like to spread out other stuff.

Anyway, I'll be more than happy if I can add links in a comment instead of having to ask others to do it! I can do it in a post, just not a comment box. Many thanks for any signposting/help you can give when ever you can.

catmoves,

Thanks for being so gracious about the fact that I tagged you and didn't bother to let you know!

Darn, but it just has to be old age catching up ... !!

Hi, you were kind enough to give me instructions for making a link on a comment, over a David.s place. I just wanted to say "Thank you" and will be practicing the advice soon. I have made notes. Many thanks.

Fletch said...

Maggie,

No thanks necessary. I hope you get much pleasure from being able to use the 'tip'.

Cath said...

Terry-
You ARE a good egg! I passed your instructions to me to Maggie May but she uses a mac and I know nothing about them so not sure if it would work. I told her about you and hope you do not mind. You were such a help to me.
She's got the linking up and running so that's another one helped by you!
Saw your note on David's and just thought I'd touch base and say thanks again. Good to know you're there. It means I do not have to have a teenager huff, puff and humiliate me!! Thanks.

Fletch said...

Cath,

Of course I don't mind. The more people that ask, the more the knowledge spreads.

Just remember that teenagers are the price we pay for the fun we had when we were young!

I've emailed you about the other things.

Hell spells Terry, popped over to tap your......... abundance of knowledge and find I've been tagged....
aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
OK, will do this soon! But hey ho I'll do it honeybunch. Am having problems over on my blog.

Fletch said...

That was AGES ago, Denise, and you really don't need to respond - unless you wish to, of course.

Wandered over to your blog and couldn't see any problem. I noted a post by you about the display not showing up correctly, but it looks like you've fixed it.

Congrats.
